The Italian Army Knife, a very SILCA take on the traditional multi-tool. We've addressed the things that frustrate us with conventional multi-tools, while keeping the layout that fits conveniently in the SILCA EOLO Wallet or Seat Roll Premio. The mid-length tool design is long enough to provide access to recessed fasteners, but short enough not to experience twist or damage under moderate torque as can happen on longer tools. All tools are forged rather than bent from hex stock. While this method of construction is more expensive, the value is unquestioned during a road-side repair. Originally designed in the 1950s when the Bianchi-Pirelli team requested a pump that could fit under the rear seat of the Fiat team car, the Pista pump quickly became an icon of professional team cars and mechanic workstations at 6-Day track events around the world. The compact form of the pump, and the ability to lay completely flat, allow the pump to take up minimal space in a trunk, duffel bag, or larger tool kit, making it a true icon of the sport amongst the cycling cognoscenti. In 2017, we took all of the qualities of the original Pista and introduced a re-engineered, limited-edition version of the pump with the iconic Molteni orange barrel to celebrate 100 years in business. These modern orange pumps were initially meant to be a limited-release product to celebrate our heritage, but the positive response and demand for the product have continued. When we launched Secret Chain Lube, Josh admitted that the starting point for this product was a hot wax recipe he had used for years with pro teams that had won numerous world and Olympic medals. In our quest to create the ultimate bottle cage, we found ourselves completely fascinated by the look, feel, and durability of tubular titanium construction.  This combination of design characteristics produces a cage that has better retention on gravel and other harsh surfaces and has proven to be the superior design when mounted on the underside of the down tube, so common in adventure riding and touring.  While classic in appearance, this material, and its manufacturing is as complex and high tech as it gets.  Cerakote is the world's leading high performance ceramic coating for use in aerospace, military, and biomedical applications.  At only 1 micron thick, Cerakote high performance ceramic coating increases abrasion resistance by more than 100 times while increasing corrosion resistance more than 1000 times over traditional metal finishes and paint coatings.  Cerakote even improves fatigue resistance by eliminating the possibility of surface scratching or notching which can lead to stress cracking over time.  

SILCA Super Secret Chain lube started out as a project to develop the fastest hot-melt wax lubricant available more than a year ago. Josh has been recommending Hot Melt Wax and helping Pro cyclists and triathletes wax chains for years and wanted to bring his lubricant formula to our customers, the challenge was how to consistently melt, dip and agitate the chain across different crockpot designs and temperatures.  The project took a fascinating turn from the world of IndyCar when Josh was introduced to a group that had developed a technology to put micro-scale wax powders into a solution that was quick-drying and forms a coating that is indiscernible from hot melt dipping. The combination of air-drying liquid wax and Tungsten Disulfide would quickly prove to beat all currently available hot-melt waxes in friction testing while being much faster and easier to apply. Best of all perhaps is that this formula would prove to be very environmentally friendly, utilizing 4 different types of wax, nanoplatelets of WS2 (Tungsten Disulfide), and mild alcohol to act as a carrier. The Ultimate Wear Reducing lubricant for E-Bikes. Based on our own award winning Synergetic lubricant, the first and only wet lube to record a 0.0% wear block in Zero Friction Cycling lab testing, Synerg-E takes our patent pending Tungsten Tribofilm Technology and blends it into a higher viscosity lubricant optimized for the high torque experienced in E-Bike drivetrains. Roughly 70% of damage to high-end carbon components like seat posts, handlebars, and stems happen when making adjustments without using torque measurement. This chuck comes from the same vendor who supplied them to SILCA pumps for more than 25 years. Modern carbon rims and tires create a real challenge for traditional tire levers, and the new wave of tubeless setups have taken the challenge to the next level. Tire fits are tighter than they've ever been, while carbon rims require non-metal levers to resist damage to the bead or brake surface during use. Previous solutions to this problem have involved using a metal core inside of a plastic lever however, this solution has its own challenges as the core of the lever is where you can add the least stiffness and strength.
