BGI Services

AI TRN - Labor to install training wheels. The BGI Service department will install training wheels (includes left and right sides). This service usually involves the removal of existing rear axle nuts, assembly of the training wheel kit, proper tensioning of the chain, and adjusting the height of the training wheels for the desired amount of 'wobble' for the rider.* Additional inexpensive small parts such as axle spacers are sometimes necessary. On rare occasions, rear axle or rear wheel replacement is necessary for training wheel installation. Call ahead and make an appointment for quick turnaround. *'Wobble' refers to how much the bike can tilt from one side to another. Some riders want zero wobble so that the bike remains straight up and down. Other riders may benefit from having some wobble so that they can lean the bike through a turn. It has been suggested that having lots of wobble will allow developing riders to experience a balanced ride as they prepare for two-wheel riding without training wheels.
AI TRN2 - Labor to remove training wheels. The BGI Service department will remove training wheels (includes left and right sides). This service usually involves the removal of the training wheel pieces, proper tensioning of the chain, and securing the rear axle to the frame. Additional inexpensive small parts such as axle spacers or nuts are sometimes necessary. On rare occasions, trimming the rear axle to a narrower width is recommended. When training wheels are removed, it's a good time to having the rear tire replaced. If your child hasn't already been having fun with skidding the rear tire, they probably will be soon. Call ahead and make an appointment for quick turnaround.
