The Headquarters Mountain Bike Skills Park

Bikes & Beer #1: Benefiting The Headquarters Mountain Bike Park

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department mountain bicycle skills park, The Headquarters, has been a great resource to promote cycling and a healthy lifestyle for Indy youth. The park has hosted 13 events and  has held 15 events off site, with impact reaching over 1600 kids and over 100 adults. The park has 60 bikes available to be ridden on the trails. The park is in the process of expanding to a total of 4-5 miles of mountain bike trails. Help support their efforts in expanding the trails in this mountain bike park on Indy's eastside. Bikes & Beer #2: Shifting Gears

Shifting Gears program is a partnership between Bicycle Garage Indy, Indiana Department of Correction and, starting in 2018, Nine13sports. The program started in 2006, turning used bicycles into refurbished bicycles for people who need bikes. In 2011, the program moved to Putnamville Correctional Facility. Donated bikes are refurnished at Putnamville and then distributed to organizations to be given to people in need. The program also serves to provide meaningful work opportunities for offenders and to prepare them for a successful re-entry into the community. Proceeds from Bikes & Beer event will go toward purchasing parts for refurbishing the bikes. Beer will be provided by Sun King Brewing Company.
