Shifting Gears Bicycle Program refurbishes donated bikes and redistributes them to those in need through community organizations. To make a request for your organization, please fill out the form. The information will be sent to a representative of each of the partner organizations: Bicycle Garage Indy, Volunteers of America of Indiana and Indiana Department of Correction.
Not every request will be able to be fulfilled. Your request will be evaluated in the order it is received. The programs ability to fill requests is solely dependent on the number of requests and the number of available bikes. Organizations should be a 501-c-3 serving those in need.
Number of bikes requested limited to 25 per request. Organizations may request bikes multiple times, but not more often than once per month.
Please allow 7-10 days for a decision to be made about your request. You will be notified if your request has been denied. When request has been approved, please allow at least 6 weeks from the time of request approval until the bicycles will be available for pickup. Organizations will be notified via email when bicycles are available to be picked up. Bicycles need to be picked up within 1 week of notification. Delivery options available. Local delivery (Indianapolis) is $45.

Shifting Gears does not make donations to individuals.
Shifting Gears does not make donations of bikes for use for a fundraising activity.
Shifting Gears bikes are not to be used for prizes or drawings that are given to random people.
